hey, i've got some friendly advice as a fellow artist and fan of homestuck. if you want some great practice on faces, try maybe sketching them out on paper, but keep them at just the pencil sketch until you're confident enough to put them on the computer. the more sketches you do, the more you'll be able to get familiar with different facial structures and what you like best. i guarantee that every time you sketch, you'll find yourself trying new things when you're more comfortable with what you're doing. shading your sketches with the pencil is also great practice for achieving a nice atmosphere and lovely effect. it gives the drawing wonderful definition, and depth. i dunno, maybe that's not your thing, but i just see great potential in you.
